Even faster High-Speed Internet

Starting March 1, 2009, the downstream speed will be increased, at no additional charge, to 7.5 Mbps for all customers who have Business High-Speed Internet access.

Videotron is expanding its Internet offering. Ultimate Speed access is being launched on the outskirts of Montreal.
As of April 2, more than 70 municipalities neighbouring Montreal will be able to enjoy Ultimate Speed Internet 30 and 50 packages. These services, whose download speeds are 30 and 50 Mbps respectively, are the fastest in Quebec.
Ultimate Speed Internet services will be offered in many towns in the Lower Laurentian, Lanaudière and Montérégie regions, and will add to the territory already served by Videotron. To name a few: Deux-Montagnes, Saint-Eustache, Hudson, Rigaud, Vaudreuil, Saint-Jérôme, Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, Repentigny, Joliette, Blainville, Mascouche and Terrebonne.
Videotron is also increasing the data transfer capacity for Ultimate Speed Internet 30 and 50 accesses, which will rise from 100 GB to 150 and 200 GB respectively, with no price increase.

Withdrawal of the Videotron news service
Effective September 9, 2008, Videotron will terminate its news service. We will no longer host news servers and all of the existing newsgroups will be eliminated. For those who wish to continue using such a feature, several independent providers currently offer such a service onthe Internet.

Why is the Videotron news service being eliminated?
Newsgroups, established in the early 90's, had the purpose of allowing Internet users to discuss and exchange ideas on various subjects. As the Internet evolved, new discussion tools emerged: instant messaging, blogs, chat rooms... These different options perform very effectively and offer solutions particularly well suited to discussion on the Internet. They have gradually gained in popularity, while use of newsgroups has constantly decreased.

When will the Videotron news service be eliminated?
The Videotron news service will be eliminated on September 9, 2008. Effective from that date, the newsgroups will no longer be accessible.

Improved voice mail!
During November 2007, all business subscribers to Vidéotron’s voice mail will get an interface update that will make the service simpler to use.
The migration will be completely transparent. No messages will be lost. Your greeting message and your personal identification number will remain the same. A notice will be or will have been left in the voice mail concerned a few days before the update.
