Multi-line tool

Manage up to three calls simultaneously!

  • The multi-line tool enables you to easily manage more incoming and outgoing calls than a traditional line.
  • Let your employees benefit from this service by adding Softphone stations to your SME Digital Link.
  • Your employees will have their own telephone station, number and voice mail. They will be more efficient without increasing your telephone bill.

Traditional features of local telephony

Digital Telephony offers, at no additional cost, all the features of traditional local telephony including:

  • Call Display
  • Call Waiting
  • Conference Call (up to four participants)
  • Busy Call Return
  • Last Call Return
  • Transfer of call in progress

The Softphone is a telephone station on your computer. Each is equipped with:

Your local call zone follows you!

Your local call zone follows you everywhere! Place and receive calls from anywhere as if you never left the office.

All you need is an Internet connection. Bring your laptop, connect to your phone and make your calls!*


A Web Call Manager

The Personal Call Manager is included with the Softphone service. It's a Web portal that lets you effectively manage your calls and consult call details online. In other words, it lets you take control of your calls.

  • Multiple Ringing
    Direct your incoming calls towards a variety of numbers. You can make other numbers ring simultaneously or sequentially, including your wireless phone, no matter who is providing your telephone service.
  • Call Forwarding
    Automatically transfer your calls to a number you can be reached. Forgot to transfer your calls before leaving the office? Do it at home from your Personal Call Manager.
  • Call Log
    Consult the details of the last 100 calls placed and received. Export these details to an electronic file for even more effective management.
  • Call Screening
    Choose the numbers you wish to temporarily block. They will be redirected to your voice mail.
  • Do Not Disturb
    Turn off the ringer and give yourself a little quiet time. Choose the times of day you wish to not receive calls.
  • Voice Mail Settings
    Define the number of rings before voice mail takes the call.

Multimedia functions

If the person you are calling also has Softphone, here's what you can do:

  • Video phone
    Does the person you are calling also have a Webcam? Combine the useful with the pleasant and speak in motion. Video conferences are also possible when all participants have a Webcam.
  • Instant messaging
    You are talking to a client and you are missing information that your co-worker has. Send an instant message and get the answer without interrupting your call.
  • Presence
    The Softphone lets you know if your colleagues are available anytime.
  • File transfer
    Talking to a colleague on the phone? Send files directly to enhance your point.

Headset

For the ultimate Softphone experience, you'll need a high-quality headset. Please note that Vidéotron only supports the USB format. Vidéotron recommends professional quality headsets for maximum sound quality.


An easy-to-install software

Install the Softphone in just a few minutes. Subscribe by dialling 514-380-7000. Then:

  1. Go to the following address: videotron.com/business/softphone/download
  2. Enter the username and password provided when you subscribed
  3. Download, follow the steps outlined and install it on your computer
  4. Put on your headset and start making calls. It's that easy!

Minimum configuration

Minimum configuration for an audio conversation are:

  • Windows XP with SP2 (not compatible with Windows Vista)
  • Pentium 4, 1.5 GHz processor
  • 64 MB of available RAM
  • 75 MB of free hard disk space
  • Vidéotron Basic Internet access*
  • Regular or USB headset (USB recommended)

Additional configuration for video conversation :

  • Pentium 4, 3 GHz processor or faster
  • 1-megapixel USB Webcam, 15 images per second

* Although Softphone works with high-speed Internet access, the quality of voice communications is guaranteed when the computer is directly connected to the Vidéotron Internet cable modem at your civic address.
