Yes. You can make long-distance calls without signing up for a monthly calling plan. However, by opting for a long-distance calling plan, you will enjoy a preferential by-the-minute rate.
- Are minutes deducted from my airtime plan if I make a long-distance call?
- Yes. Minutes are deducted from your plan. In addition, long-distance charges also apply.
- Can I share my Canada/US long-distance calling plan minutes with a member of my Share plan?
- Yes, absolutely. Your Canada/US long-distance calling plan minutes can be shared with all members of a Share plan.
- How do I know if I've used all the minutes in my US long-distance plan?
- Simply go to the "record of use" section of the Customer Centre.

Canada/United States long-distance plans do not apply to roaming calls. Airtime charges are billed in addition to long-distance charges.
For the purposes of the long-distance plans, the United States refers to the continental United States (calls to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and Mexico are not included).
