Can I dial 9-1-1 ?: Yes. The 911 emergency service works the same way as with the traditional telephone network.

Is this what is known as "Internet telephony" ?: No. Videotron Business Line does not go through the Internet. Cable telephony goes through Videotron's private network just like other traditional local telephone service providers.

Is the phone line secure ?: To ensure the security and confidentiality of your communications, the digital signal from your workplace is encoded. This is unlike traditional analog telephony, which can be intercepted during transmission.

Videotron's network gives priority to voice signals, ensuring high quality sound for its Business Line service.

Plus, a digital signal and superior insulation of the coaxial cables make the line less susceptible to « noise interference » than with traditional telephony.

Is Videotron's Business Line service recognized by alarm system providers ?: Videotron's Business Line service is recognized by the major security companies in Canada as well as by the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association).

What's the uptime of the service ?: Uptime rates for Videotron's Business Line service are on par with and even better than the standard requirements for public telephone services such as traditional telephony.

Electrical redundancy: In the event of a power failure, a battery provides up to eight hours of backup power.^*
